Skilled Positions for Residency in The Dairy Industry

According to Immigration New Zealand (INZ), from the 15th of February 2021, the Assistant Farm Manager and Herd Manager roles on dairy farms will be recognized as skilled positions and able to earn points towards New Zealand Residence.

This significant change means that individuals working in these roles can now claim points for skilled work, similar to Farm Managers.

If you have sufficient points, you could submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) for residence, opening new pathways for skilled workers in the agricultural sector to make New Zealand their permanent home.

Eligibility and Expression of Interest

Your eligibility to submit an Expression of Interest for Residence depends on your individual circumstances, including your accumulated points.

Our team of Immigration Advisers recommends dispelling any rumors and seeking a formal evaluation to explore your options thoroughly. The pathway to residency can be complex, and a formal assessment ensures that you have an accurate understanding of your current eligibility and the steps needed to qualify.

Our Comprehensive Process

At Visa Advisers, we offer a detailed and thorough process to help you navigate these changes effectively:

  1. Review Your Information: We carefully review your personal and professional information to assess your current situation.
  2. Eligibility Understanding: We provide a clear and accurate understanding of your existing eligibility for the Skilled Migrant Category.
  3. Future Pathway Advice: If you’re not currently qualified, we advise you on a pathway to follow in the future to improve your chances of eligibility.
  4. Follow-Up Session: We offer a follow-up session to go through the assessment analysis with you, addressing any concerns or issues you might have.

Be Proactive Despite EOI Pool Uncertainty

INZ is currently not selecting EOIs from the pool, and there is no official date for when selections will resume.

However, it is crucial to move promptly with your submission to ensure your eligibility is not affected by any future changes, such as increasing points requirements. Being proactive now can secure your place in the pool and position you advantageously once selections recommence.
